Yellowing
UV exposure can turn clear plastic lenses yellow and dull, making the front of the vehicle look aged.
Headlight Restoration Newmarket & Aurora
Cloudy, yellowed headlights can make an otherwise clean vehicle look older. JMcKay’s Mobile Auto Detailing restores oxidized headlight lenses to improve clarity, appearance and the overall finish of your vehicle at your home or workplace.
Why Headlights Turn Cloudy
UV exposure, weather, road grime and age gradually break down the protective surface of plastic headlight lenses. Proper restoration removes the damaged outer layer instead of simply covering it with a temporary shine.
UV exposure can turn clear plastic lenses yellow and dull, making the front of the vehicle look aged.
A hazy surface reduces the crisp, clear appearance of the lens and can worsen over time.
Damaged outer plastic often needs sanding and polishing to restore a smoother, clearer finish.
Our Process
We check whether the haze is on the outside of the lens and assess the level of oxidation.
The surrounding paint and trim are protected before restoration work begins.
The damaged surface is refined progressively and polished to bring back clarity.
A protective finishing step helps preserve the restored appearance for longer.
Realistic Expectations
Most yellowing, haze and dullness on the outside surface can often be dramatically improved through proper sanding, polishing and protection.
Moisture inside the housing, internal lens damage, cracking or severe heat damage cannot be corrected by polishing the exterior surface. In those cases replacement or repair may be required.
